What an electrifying moment that was! Members were on seventh floor of excitement in anticipation of new challenges. Guests were overwhelmed with the courtesy received. God blessed everyone with a pleasruable weather.
The occasion was the much awaited, Installation Ceremony of Bharat Vikas Parishad of Gharaunda Branch. Can you imagine that in a program which started at around 8:30PM and lasted till 11:00PM, nobody felt a sign of fatigue even for a single moment. Afterall it was the moment of handover of responsibilities from a very successful leader Mr. Rajesh Garg and his team to a very competent successor Mr. Narendra Chawla and his team.

Chief Guest Mr. Sohan Lal Ji Gupta adored the function with his gracious presence and illuminated the deepshikha and marked the beginning of the function.
Installation Officer, Mr. KL Chawla also accompnied him. Guest of Honour Mr. Amrik Singh and State Secretary Mr. Mohan Grover were also there.
The stage was being hosted by the ever effective Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal. He introduced the audience with the ideology of Bharat Vikas Parishad and a brief history and achievements of the branch.
He welcomed the guests and gave the introduction of chief guest, guest of honour, installation officer and other special invitee.

Past President Mr. Rajesh Garg then presented a summary of the works performed by the branch under his supervision.

The previous team was sitting on the stage was looking satisfied with the achievements of the branch during their tenure.

Then came the big moment. The new team was there to accept the challenge; officially.
Everyone took the oath of responsibility and position.
The whole audience stood up for the moment including the chief guest which actually presented a gesture that " Yes, Go ahead. We are standing with you. Always." It was definitely a moment of pride for the new members but nonethe less it was a moment of commiting yourself to the social causes as well. It was a moment of swearing in for the betterment of society. It was a moment of standing for a cause.
The new team then took the position on the stage.
No doubt that they must have felt the waves of upcoming reponsiblities in their heart and mind.
Ofcourse, having position is something very different than living the position and coming upto the expectations.
The very touchy moment was the departure of past president Mr. Rajesh Garg stepping down the stage; not alone but with all the past presidents of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Gharaunda Branch in a big garland of flowers.
Everyone enjoyed the moment and appreciated the gesture and emotions behind.
New President Mr. Narendra Chawla then presented his vision of BVP for the coming year and his list of activities that he wishes to accomplish. Main focus was on parishad's own premises, Shav-vahan for the city, Laser Machine for Physiotherapy centre.
No doubt that everyone noticed the social accountability that BVP assumes in all respects.

The the program found a decent ending with the words of encouragement from Sh. Sohan Lal Gupta and Sh. KL Chawla. Newly elected Secretary Mr. Ajay Singla then presented the vote of thanks.

Everyone then stood for the national anthem and departed after enjoying dinner. We wish to cherish many such Installation ceremonies for our Branch.

Free Medical Camp at Shekhupura

17 May 2009:

Service or SEWA is one of the base value of the foundation of Bharat Vikas Parishad. In line are our efforts of providing superior medical advise to the rural areas.
In continuation of our free medical advise and blood sugar checkup camps, one such camp was organised in Shekhupura. 41 villagers availed the benefits of the camp. One alarming fact which is being uncovered here also is the unawareness of people regarding the seriousness of the disease.
Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal, Chand Pahal, Ajay Singla, Narendra Chawla and Rajesh Garg were present in the camp and helped villagers.

Free Medical Check-UP and Blood Sugar Testing Camp

10th May 2009:
Bharat Vikas Parishad, Gharaunda organized and held a 2 Hr. Free Medical Check-Up Camp. Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal examined the patients and advised on ayurvedic prescriptions. Courtesy to Mr. Chand Pahal, Pahal Laboratory offered free blood sugar level testing for all the diabetic patients. Secretary 2009-10, Ajay Singla assisted in smooth functioning of the camp.
Villagers also appreciated the whole initiative and asked for such camps in future as well. Around 60 patients visited and availed benefits of the camp. The benefits were clearly visible. 18 out of 25 patients, who were tested for diabetics, found positive. The worse thing was that very few of them were aware of the level and seriousness of the consequences of the high blood sugar. Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal then make them aware of harmful effects of the disease and the lifestyle to control that.
Branch has plans to organize such camps on regular basis in nearby villages so that the villagers get the professional medical help.

Training Workshop

10th May 2009:
Training is the key to success. If a person is not adequately trained, he may get success. But will that have an everlasting effect. That is a big question.
To remove this question, to equip our position-holders with complete tools and to maximize the result through proper utilization of the manpower, Bharat Vikas Parishad organized a training camp in Karnal at Khalsa College. It was a nice initiative and made all the position-holders aware of their roles and responsibilities.
Secretary, Mr. Ajay Singla; Treasurer, Mr. Mahender Soni; Joint-Secretary, Mr. Sanjay Jain and Mr. Hutesh Sethi availed the benefits of the experience of the speakers. Later on, Mr. Rajesh Garg and Mr. Mukesh Aggarwal also joined in.
Overall this was a good experience and everybody get an insight of the whole process to be followed for smooth and proper functioning of the branch.

The Heat is On

9 May 2009:
When the whole country is under the influence of heat wave and the mercury is touching 45 degrees even in beginning of May, Bharat Vikas Parishad Gharaunda has got hotter. Surely, it is not the environmental temperature which is causing this. Infact, every member of BVP can feel the heat of the movements happening around the preparations of Installation Ceremony of Executive Team for 2009-10.
With just 8 days to go, everyone is excited about the idea of being installed on the same day when the country will have a fresh government for the next session. Isn't it interesting.
